Getting Here by Public Transport Train: Take the Williamstown Line from Southern Cross or Flinders Street Station. Disembark at Williamstown Station, which is just a short walk from the venue. Bus: Routes 471 and 415 stop nearby. Use Public Transport Victoria’s Journey Planner to map your trip. Getting Here by Car From Melbourne CBD, follow the M1 and exit onto Melbourne Road, then continue to Nelson Place via Parker Street. The venue is easily accessible and well-signposted. Parking Free parking is available along Nelson Place. Please note: time limits apply - check local signage when parking, we do not take any responsibility for fines received. Additional parking can be found on nearby streets, and there are paid options in the area if needed. SECURITY NOTICE For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, prohibited items including weapons, glass containers, illegal substances, and drones are not permitted within the festival grounds. OUR BELOVED SCAVENGER HUNT IS BACK - "POSTCARDS FROM SWITZERLAND" In this years’ scavenger hunt, you will follow John, the Aussie Post Man on his trip to KYBURZ HQ in Embrach near Zurich. What was supposed to be a quick visit ends up an adventure. Though he was supposed to land in Zurich, John ended up in Geneva, on the other side of Switzerland with nothing but his KYBURZ DXP Vehicle for transport. At every stop, he sends postcards to his mates in Melbourne telling them about Swiss Inventions and Innovations that he’s discovering along the way. Join him on this adventure, and at the same time, unlock the number for John’s return flight to Melbourne with SINGAPORE AIRLINES. Compared to the previous motorbikes, they save time and energy. A three-wheeler does not have to be placed on the stand at every stop. Especially in winter in the snow, three wheels are more stable than two. The experience gained in Switzerland was used to develop the vehicles for Australia Post. Specific modifications make the vehicle unique for each fleet operator. For Australia Post, a roof was needed as sun protection. The front fork had to be reinforced, as the pavement edges are higher in Australia. It goes without saying that the superstructures are adapted to the way Australian posties work. They may soften or highlight the body’s outline by blending it into several layers of images I superimposes/blend on the figure. Does it surprise you that Velcro® was invented, patented and registered in Switzerland? Hunting in the Jura mountains, a Swiss engineer noticed that certain seeds were attaching themselves to his clothes, as well as to his dog –and they were nigh on impossible to remove. On closer inspection, these ‘burrs’ seemed to have tiny hooks, attaching them tightly to fibres and hair. With help from friends in the weaving industry, Georges de Mestral managed to replicate this ‘hook and loop’ fastening method in an invention. He named it velcro, from the French velour and crochet (velvet and hook). Although he marketed it as a ‘zipperless zipper’ in the 1950s, it took an organization like NASA to finally hook the world: in 1969, astronauts used Velcro® to secure things inside the Apollo spaceship. The benefits are: Improved circulation, reduced tension and stress. Improved mobility, flexibility and increased energy levels. Back, neck and joint care and Pilates breathing techniques with multiple benefits for body and mind. Myofascial release is a very effective and gentle way of restoring lost or reduced range of motion in your joints. tissue hydration through Self –Massage. Props are provided.
